Nickel Boys! Wow, just wow. I haven’t been pushed to write a review on Letterboxd in a long time, but the sheer mastery of craft, story, and history in this has moved me in ways I wasn’t expecting. Ramell Ross challenges the perceived limits of “Black art” with this adaptation, equal measures of bold defiance and empathy. I was expecting a gut punch but received a warm embrace instead. Well done! I cannot wait to learn from this again.

I’ve been keeping this away for a while now and I’m not sure why but finally catching Aftersun after I’ve recently unearthed a few family photos from years past feels fated.

that final shot completely broke me.

    Africa International Film Festival.

Beyond its many technical issues ranging from terribly unfocused shots to some extremely tiresome voiceover. It feels great to witness these local stories that I grew up with on a big screen.

Filled with References to Stanley Kubrick, Wong Kar Wai, Robert Eggers and even Murakami, it is clear Juju Stories was made by real lovers of the craft.

Spooky elements aside Juju Stories, like a great deal of many commercial Nollywood films is an interesting tale of love, greed and obsession but the only difference here is a real care for and attention to storytelling.

My Goodness! Where do I Begin ?

Paul Thomas Anderson has outdone himself. This is a true Love Film. It feels like i have been waiting for this film all my Life. This is Cinema.

The Cast is Wondeful. Daniel Day Lewis delivers as usual but I am very surprised by Vicky Kreips and Lesley Manville, they are so astonishing that they basically steal the show.

It’s interesting to not that Paul Thomas Anderson acted as his own Cinematographer on…
