The Brutalist 2024
Well Olly, you were right. It really is epic.
The trauma of the Holocaust hangs heavy over the protagonists in this film without it really being explicitly addressed. Meanwhile, the racism and financial power games of wealthy American philistines make for an uneasy, suffocating watch.
Part 2 has certainly divided critics; despite some loose ends - none of which I felt were too essential to close off - it’s an ambitious, nightmarish experience, with moments that will linger with you for a long time.
An absolute spectacle - and made for only $10M!
