As one of the millions of people who watched this develop live, this fascinated me. I was nearly 10 years old, and the images of the Munich Olympics make up, along with the Bobby Kennedy assassination, Vietnam, Watergate, and Apollo 11, my early TV news memories.

So nice to see animals behaving like animals (they’re much lovelier that way) - and yes, I am intentionally overlooking their naval navigational skills. Beautiful art and soulful characterizations. Yes, it is the only animated feature nominated for an Oscar that I’ve watched, but I’m convinced it should win.
I was hoping the closing credits would include Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion…but sadly that didn’t happen.
