Fighting Back 1982
I had never heard of this & well it’s a Pretty underrated vigilante film from the 80s. Awesome restoration job from the folks at Arrow. I love Tom Skerritt & he does a great job in this, a very young Patti Lupone in an early role also elevates this. Any film where the great Yaphet Kotto shows up well you know it’s worth a watch. I love grimey 80s films so this was a pleasant surprise.

Mikey Madison is a goddamn legend. How does she not win Best Actress for this, so many scenes just left me shook, and god that ending is shattering. Sean Baker, ok let’s hope he gets nominations for Directing, Editing, Picture & Writing, I’ve always loved his films but this is on a whole new level. God that little fuck Mark Eydelshteyn was so good but what a deplorable shithead. I think Yura Borisov gave one of the absolute best performances of the year. I cannot stress enough how fantastic this movie is.
