A big letdown. The horror and comedy are both fairly weak- everything is so paper thin it floats away. Mason Gooding is extremely charming and theres a laugh or two, but the film fails to capitalize on a fun premise (and looks surprisingly drab while doing so).

Think this is my last Eggers' film- these are not for me. They all look fantastic, good performances, emotionally hollow. So focused on the technical there's nothing to latch on to here. A story of lust shouldn't be this dull- give me Winona Ryder getting fucked by green fog!!! The whole movie I felt like Kristen Johnston in Sex and the City- whatever happened to fun??
