Guy Richie does Inglorious Basterds... almost
Despite a promising cast, impressive sets (the Turkish location looks great, I wonder if more US/UK films will be shot out there?) and a great premise, it is without doubt a mess of a film in both tone and execution. The script lacks awareness of its own stupidity and there's an uncomfortable patriotism to the whole thing. It made me realise that I just wanted Hugh Grant to come and make it all better…
