Ryan Evans is my roman empire. The first is arguably more iconic and the third definitely has the better budget, but some producer's finger slipped on the saturation bar for this film's footage and the result was an early 2000s masterpiece.

The lights came on in the theater. My sister and I turned to look at each other. A singular tear was rolling down her cheek as she whispered, "...but did she make it back?" Incredible.
Came into the movie expecting gorgeous animation, a silly animal story, and a stacked cast. Left the movie having witnessed gorgeous animation, a heart-wrenching lesson on motherhood, worrying implications about the state of the forest's food chain, and Kit Connor's attempt at an American accent.
