I watched this with my dad, who remembered he watched this before when the opening sex scene came on lol.
A GOAT of cinema’s final film. Hoffman completely kills it with his role (as per usual) and Hawk is not far behind. I especially enjoyed the silvery color grading in the visuals, displaying the sharp yet washed out world of post 9/11, pre recession America. The pacing of the story, mostly a lot of flash backs, feels logical and cohesive. And man, what a bummer ending.
Lumet gave us one final, classical tragedy. A man as pessimistic as he was optimistic

Pure bullshit. Doctor Beck poisons his enemies with fentanyl and almost gets his balls cut off by his ex victim. Eric Roberts was plastered drunk in half the scenes. There is a La La Land music number. The stream I watched had a gamble on whether or not the twist would be if a love interest was a honey pot (she was, and I won).
Cream of the crop of daytime television movies. So much fun. They knew what the people wanted, and they wanted pure bullshit.
