Great movie with a lot of philosophy and psychology references and quotes. Loved the writing and storytelling. Amazing character development for all characters. I liked the first half of the movie better, because most of the dialogue is what makes the story special. The second half is mostly action and is just a display of the inevitable conflict between the two sides.
P.S.
I can't help but point out how most of the descriptions of the biological root network of the living trees suits perfectly some of the latest discoveries about fungal mycelium networks under the forest surface. The so-called Wood Wide Web

On par with the book. I read it about 2 years ago and loved how most of the visuals got adapted in the movie. Great use of symbolism that was not initially in the book. {SPOILER}Like when Kaya hugs her brother from the side of the chicken fence and later hugs Jumpin in the court room, again separated by a barrier. {END OF SPOILER} Amazing imagery of the marsh.
