Companion 2025
Companion put a fresh spin on the AI human-bot trope, though I was not as impressed by this movie as I wanted to be because I feel this has become an increasingly saturated genre. Like most of these types of movies, the film takes a dark turn as AI manipulation spirals out of control through the actions of the pathetic boyfriend antagonist, who justifies murder for money, with his self-pitying victim complex.

I loved The Last Showgirl. While the story is relatively simple, it touches on profound life themes that left me torn between two perspectives by the end. On one hand, it’s easy to view the protagonist as delusional—a woman who sacrificed everything to be a Las Vegas showgirl, with nothing to show for it.
