  Might not rate this film because of the message and length. It’s very hard to put up against other films in a rating system. If I had to choose though, I would be between a 4-4.5. Don’t burn me on the cross @lucascorsese. I thoroughly enjoyed almost every part of this film. A couple sequences that dragged a little bit, but other than that the atmosphere and emotion felt in this film really brings you into their world and environment. Phenomenal direction from Martin as always.

  This was a truly special viewing for me. The night before the showing, my friend and I raved about all the little parts of Whiplash that make it so amazing. As I walked into the theater I thought of all those, and made an effort to find something new I liked in each scene, or something else that I had never picked up before. It made it quite enjoyable. Ecstatic that I got to see this on the big screen. JK you are the man.
