  Idk if i’ve winced so much throughout a film since, like, midsommar. Did not expect chow mo-wan’s heartbroken bastardized villain arc. Visual and thematic references to in the mood for love were cool, i’ll give it that

  Fuck, that was one of the most visually engaging and stunning things I’ve ever seen. Christopher Doyle was using that camera like an instrument, truly a master at his craft

  To me, Fallen Angels was a lot more about feeling than it was about story. And it made me feel a lot, especially the isolation and (sexy) despair of the characters. Really interesting to see such a wildly different perspective from Wong Kar-Wai of Hong Kong at night compared to the one he takes in In the Mood for Love
