incredible movie. Kon's strongest in my opinion. paints a fantastic portrait of Japan through the 20th century. dipping in and out of Chiyoko's real life and her filmography is extremely engaging. despite this movie also blending reality and fiction like Kon tends to do it almost doesn't matter. her characters and her personal ambitions and motivations touch on a universal part of the human experience. If you liked any of his other movies, this is a must watch

my personal favorite of Kon's movies although I think on a lot of metrics the others beat it out, I just find this one so much fun to watch.
Rarely lets the audience know what is truly happening in reality. this is a consistent theme in his movies and this one does that the most openly. it's nonsensical and the vibes are incredible. best soundtrack of his movies in my opinion
