Character and plot developments are masterfully revealed. Loved learning more about these characters as the film progressed. Some great scenes, notably when Kafuku and Takatsui share a ride after getting drinks. The opening credits don’t appear until 45 minutes into the movie - an unconventional decision that reflects the unconventional casting of the Uncle Vanya play at the center of the film. Powerful movie about the many stages of grief.

Love the across-the-board commitment to characters (and the world of Blaine, Missouri) from the ensemble cast and filmmakers.
