The Iron Claw 2023
Watched this movie with my dad tonight. Purposefully read as little about it as possible before giving it a watch and I'm really glad I did. The themes of tragedy and coping under a problematic family dynamic based on approval and validation.
The ending of this movie about brought me to tears. Zac Efron's performance was nothing short of Oscar-worthy.

Johnny Got His Gun 1971
A terrifying depiction of the depravity of war. This movie is a little too art-housey at times for me at times and the acting is straight-up awkward on multiple occasions. Conceptually, still a very powerful movie and worth a watch

Don’t typically seek out anime, but this was nothing short of a masterpiece. Totally heart-wrenching. The last 2 episodes of the show did do it better in my opinion.
