This was a very difficult film for me to watch, as I hate the idea of animal suffering. While there is actually not a lot of animal suffering, there's enough to depress me. I am fascinated by Nazi Germany and it says a lot that I found this film utterly boring. Robert Carlyle is over the top as Hitler; he plays him as such a creepy psycho, in both his personal and political lives, that it's a wonder the character attracted any adherents at all (in reality I suspect Hitler was a bit more charming than he is here).
