An incredibly goofy and sweet story except it’s about the progressive devaluation of human life. Bong can do whatever he damn well pleases. It doesn’t matter that he makes a different kind of movie coming off the heels of Parasite. The whole cast is incredible and unique. Some story threads that could have been more interesting to explore were left out, but I still thoroughly enjoyed.

    All killer, all filler.

Dazed and Confused doesn’t tell a story that feels like it needs to be told. However, it is a delight to experience the bittersweet giddiness of soaking in that summer freedom alongside our main characters. Hardly 0 character development taking place is made up for with the fact that it’s just a fun and brainless watch with like 25 different 70s rock needle drops.

Matthew also pulls off the stunt of being a creep that is still very likeable. It’s okay because it was the 70s? He definitely deserved the career launching pad that this movie provided him.

Yorgos Lanthimos is what would happen if Wes Anderson went on a nightmarish and depraved 10 day bender of psychedelics and hedonism.

George Clooney - “HA HA. Those with weaker minds than I could never understand the directing prowess it takes to make a masterpiece. Just wait until I place well known actors John Goodman and Bill Murray on screen. I’ll even have the music swell and pause on their faces long enough for the masses to gasp and applause in honor of my genius. Then when the credits roll, they’ll immediately invite me on stage to award me every Oscar ever.”
