The Spectacular Now 2013
This is not the typical Miles Teller movie we are all used to, but something about this film spoke to me. I loved how the dark moments were shed with light moments and the ending was not your typical happy ending. The ending left room for imagination on what could be between Sutter and Aimee.
I did struggle with how loosely put together the relationships were between everyone. There were so many unanswered questions that arose for me.
There was enough information given to follow the sequence, but overall too many loose ends. I wouldn't suggest this moving forward.

Unfortunately for this movie you can't help but compare to the original. The overall tone was heartbreaking and morbid. Something the original movie had going for itself was the upbeat, light-hearted feeling you received when singing along with all of the tracks they selected, yet they chose to deliver a somber list of tracks for this film. Some could say this added emotion and depth to the storyline, but I wasn't a fan.
