Note to self: difference between the ending on radio show and in film, downplaying of the twist, speaks to the loss in the film being REAL regardless—and not just of a person but of a homeland

Notes to self: structured around two twists. First is that Weisz character not the femme fatale she appears to be, actually loves Anne. Second after she tells Stone character “you think you’ve won” and no further victory from her later arrives. Stone is a rape survivor who has done everything to secure a social position that will protect her from such things, but the last scene shows she has ended up right back in that position of loss of agency through sexual subjugation
