exceptional film, beautifully filmed and paced - while it is absolutely japanese and steeped in the 50s, it's still very "slice of life", with topics that are all relatively mundane but still very relevant in life today (moving on in life, interactions with parents, growing up), made me cry, 10/10
everytime noriko appears on screen, from her interaction with the mother, to the final two interactions with kyoko and the father are especially touching...
