I’d like to say I watched this because I saw Black Bag yesterday and got in a Bond mood, but that’d be a lie. I watched this because my cat stepped on the power button of the Blu-ray player which activated the input button on my TV and this happened to be in the player back from when I watched it with commentary from Blank Check. So I decided to watch it with James Bonding commentary (again).

Here’s the problem. The movie’s biggest laugh doesn’t come when the puppets are acting risqué (the movie’s entire hook). No, it comes when McCarthy’s character is storming out of a police station yelling at various officers about what she wishes she could do to them. She falls to the last one and says (paraphrasing), “And I wish I could’ve fucked you!”. The camera pans over and it’s none other than Ben Falcone, Melissa McCarthy’s real-life husband.

It is amazing how quickly Kimberly gets over the death of her friends (which she caused).

The gore is better, the opening is pretty unforgettable though not without unintentional laughs (EVERY CAR EXPLODES?!?!), but the characters kind of suck, and though I wouldn’t say I ever really cared about Clear, the way she’s dispatched so quickly and unceremoniously is kind of unforgivable.

And no 2003 movie has ever 2003’d harder than this one.
