With Fincher going all-in with digital revisionism, he should have gotten those wet strands of hair out of Jodie Foster’s face in the many close-up shots.

    ★★★

There is a point in Novocaine (working title: Nepo-babies, The Movie) where the film could come to a perfect conclusion, but instead ramps up for one last over the top action sequence, which quickly devolves into utter nonsense where everyone is suddenly a superhero. Novocaine overstays its welcome by nearly 20 minutes.

    Beanpole

    This

    movie

    is

    2.25 hours

    long

    because

    this

    is

    how

    the

    dialogue

    is

    paced.

This movie could have been an hour long if they hadn’t spent so much time on all the painfully drawn out pauses in conversation. If you asked a question or spoke to someone and they didn’t respond for 30-45 seconds you’d think there was something wrong with them. Every character is unlikable and possibly mentally challenged. The mostly shot in close-up camera work gives the viewer nearly nothing visually interesting to look at, and by the end I started hoping Beanpole had been run over by the tram. Skip it.
