One of the best films I’ve seen in a very long time. Original yet feels like it could be up there with the classics.
Efron shines as the conflicted protector of his brothers in this based-on-a-true-story drama. The brothers were well cast and the scenes where they interact are where the movie works best. One minor quibble (actor portraying Ric Flair was miscast) and one major quibble (wasted Maura Tierney’s talent with minimal screen time and few lines).
Great character work and some of the best scares of the franchise made this the best Hell House entry since the original. This clown gives Pennywise a run for his money.
