An intelligent and complicated screenplay with a haunting atmosphere and brave performances, looks at the power within relationships, in particular the delicate and varied levels of a submissive nature as opposed to a self-destructive one, encompassing themes of ageing and death that will strike a chord with many people. Emily Browning is an excellent lead in a brave performance that will surprise people who know her from Sucker Punch; and director Julie Leigh has crafted a deeply engrossing film, with a clever narrative. The only thing it lacks is a satisfying conclusion.

Snow White and the Huntsman 2012
Had great potential to be something special, but the stunning visuals and excellent cast were let down by old fashioned dialogue and a naive lack of substance and structure. It felt over-long, yet it is at least good entertainment that treats the viewer with intelligence and will hopefully become a hit with younger audiences.
