Not really contributing at the enrichment of the genre with clever, and ingenious humor, this parody of what it’s title suggests delivers exactly what it promises, and granted, some jokes and meta-references do land, mostly for those fans enough of the John Hughes’ flicks, but ultimately, either because of it’s politically incorrectness– which admirably the film embraces all the way–, or the almost insultingly simplicity of the characters, this Joel Gallen comedy is fine as a product of its time that will never be replicated, but as an outstanding piece of genre does little to please.

A View to a Kill 1985
The last Roger Moore-era entry in the series recovers the old-school “spy” theme that the series started to exaggerate and, even if it’s far from being Bond’s best (or even Moore’s) the addition of the- once again-eccentric villains, points in favor for the always welcomed presence of Christopher Walken, grants John Glen a full pardon after the atrocious “Octopussy”, with a far compelling, charming and proper style and tone, suitable enough to make this a passable closure for Moore’s legacy.
