Solidly mid. Seems like someone had a premise for a meet-cute and slammed it together with a sci-fi war treatment.
Performances are ok. Monsters are fine. Stakes are low for the viewer. It was fun and fine.

Fun Star Trek universe romp with the amazing Michelle Yeoh reprising the deadly and devoous Philippa Georgiou role. Suffering a bit from modern Trek’s tendency to use splashy lights and quick cuts, the story is told with humor without descending into comedy and just enough care for us to understand and empathize with our main characters.

A good time for sure.

Fitting origin story for a terrific character in a bonkers franchise. Miller delivers his stylistic extremist vision and the performances rise to the wild occasion.

Gene Wilder is charming and devious and brilliant in this post-psychedelic sixties heavy come-down flick that is somehow for kids but probably not really.
