Great coming of age film. It did the cringe so well. I was sitting in the theatre physically convulsing at some of the awkward moments. Reminded me so well of the feeling of awkward teenage angst.

Not really a fan of animated movies but this was good.
Although I had higher expectations. I saw some reviewer say “not only is this the best children’s movie of the year, it’s arguably one of the best movies of the year period”.

It was pretty good but a bit overrated imo. The acting was straight up bad in most scenes. Wes’s signature style carried heavily.
It certainly wasn’t a transformative movie that reveals any compelling insights into the human experience. Or an artistic masterpiece that brings you face to face with rarely-confronted emotions within.
But the story is decent, and the over the top theatrical style is fun.
