Raise the Red Lantern 1991
wow what a unique and touching experience. the intro scene was one of a kind and such a good connecting piece to the rest of the movie. i loved the cinematography in this as well. so many beautiful shots, especially with the use of the color red. everything moved so candidly in this i can't describe it. living the life and feeling the emotions of the main character was eye opening and at times unbearable, especially at the end. such a well made film.

a very touching and beautiful story. i loved researching more about it and even Roman Polanski's own experience with the holocaust as well as Adrien Brody's ancestry being involved. the scene where he plays the piece for the german soldier towards the end is straight up beautiful. so many great things in this movie. brody was remarkable and has such unique facial expressions.
