  Part of this rating is undoubtedly just because I am unable to ignore the historical inaccuracy, but man this movie is poor. Phoenix might have been a good casting ten years ago, but it hurts the suspension of disbelief to pretend he is a 25 year old at the start of this film.

  The film is just a series of action pieces with no real story between them.

  A true Eggers movie, visually stunning and disorientating. Love the heavy thematic association of vampirism with lust that took many modern portrayals of vampires fail to capture.

  I mean, it's probably the best Robin Hood movie. Not a high bar I recognise but it's fun enough.

  Big fan of Sean Connery rocking up as the King of England with the strongest Scottish accent you've ever heard.
