Unlike Guadanino’s previous work that often follows a pretty linear and straight forward story (regardless of the sometimes strange subject matter), Queer features a series of unexplained sequences, dreams, visions, hallucinations that manipulate objectivity. Rather than trying to make sense of every piece of imagery, the films offers you to lean into the raw visceral feeling and for that reason I think this is one of the most spiritual and transcendent films I have seen. Both protagonists portray such a clear fear of themselves and what they cannot be to each other because of that. Incredible performances. Good 👍
