I had more questions when the film ended, then when it started. It left me thinking about understanding and connecting and what can get in the way (language, trauma, pain, history). The main characters' perspectives on belonging and identity were unapologetically nuanced (at times deeply sad). I felt asked to sit in the muck and I'm grateful for the opportunity to cultivate this necessary disposition.
A film about woman making a decision, together. I was sad to see it end.
A series that touches on the roots of harm, in the last episode, 4, "there is a lot that has happened in your life that is not on you." A touching moment followed by an awkward handshake by two unlikely comrades... I appreciated the blunt way reality was constructed and deconstructed on multiple occasions, I think this is one of the film medium's strengths, and I always tip my hat to works that utilize it.
