With Bergman's movies it’s always an existential crisis type of experience. I can’t quite put it into words without blabbering , just beautiful and humane.
That’s his mother, an old woman, cold as ice, more forbidding than death.
And this is her son, and there are light years between them.
He himself says he’s a living corpse.
And Evald is growing just as lonely, cold and dead.
And I thought of the baby inside me.
All along the line, there’s…
It's those dreams you have, that feel so real and make you so incredibly sad, or happy, or in love with someone and once you wake up you are left with this heavy feeling on your chest without any recollection of why. This film spoke to my soul in the least dramatic way possible lol
