    Snow White

    ★★★

Snow White is largely forgettable. I don’t think it’s unwatchable, but it’s certainly not memorable. I can’t say how faithful of an adaptation this is having not seen the animated movie in ages. Rachel Zegler is clearly the best part of the film. She’s singing her heart out and brings such a warmth and kindness to the role. Andrew Burnap is charming as Jonathan and works well with Zegler on screen. That’s where the positives end. Gal Gadot is pretty…

    Novocaine

    ★★★

Novocaine has some fun and bloody fight scenes, but comes off as bit too predictable and formulaic. Jack Quaid and Amber Midthunder are definitely the best part and have great chemistry together. Quaid is always likable as the every man and Midthunder makes a strong impression. Unfortunately, the film isn’t inventive enough to stand out among the wide variety of other rated R action movies.

Moonlight is a prime example of raw and powerful storytelling. It’s incredible well written, acted, and directed and certainly leaves viewers with a lasting impression.

    Mickey 17

    ★★★½

Mickey 17 is a mix of satire and science fiction that certainly feels unique. Robert Pattinson continues to show great range as an actor, portraying Mickey 17 and 18 distinctly. The CGI and sound design was immersive, especially in IMAX. However, Mark Ruffalo’s performance wasn’t particularly impressive and just came off as an uninspired Trump caricature. The film’s exploration of the ethics and implications of human cloning also get lost in the irreverent tone. Overall, Bong Joon-Ho takes some big swings here, and most of them land, but some don’t.
