This movie is really funny due its over the top nature but it also feels like a glorification of the Andrew Tate hypermasculinity toxic shit that’s been running rampant on the internet for years, rather than a satire of it.
Like he kills hundreds of dudes, fucks the women, commands other men in a way that seems to feed into that mindset. At the end of the day it’s an insane revenge fantasy movie that’s well made but hard to enjoy…

There’s a sense of self assuredness to me that this iteration knows it will deviate from the usual gundam formula, and also knows that it will get it right. Maybe that’s Kazuya Tsurumakis influence and experience talking from directing the rebuilds of Evangelion. Take’s character designs really helps sell how new and distinct this one is. Parts of it also reminded me of SSSS.Gridman and Dynazenon, starry eyed kids jumping into giant robots…
