It was so obvious that Micheal B Jordan's character was in the right that they had to make him hit a woman for no reason so the audience would side with the Black Panther. There is a civil war and military coup scene where dozens of people appear to die on screen but there is no blood and none of the named characters seem to care about how this political violence and instability harms the people of Wakanda.
