enjoyed it, probably enjoyed it more than i would usually bc i watched it right after emilia perez. i thought the character development was good, and laughed and cried at the appropriate parts. saw that the movie has received some criticism for denying science or smt; i can see where that’s coming from.

this movie was just plain bad. it wasn’t even exciting or funny bad, it was boring bad, which is the worst type of bad. no enjoyment could be had at ALL watching this movie. not a single song was a real song. every song was unnecessary. this isnt a musical; it’s a disgrace. so many plot holes as well. why was zoe chosen? why was she necessary? why did emilia and that other girl fall in love? their love was not convincing at all. nothing in this movie was. it was bad bad bad. boo 🍅🍅🍅🍅

cool to know that it was inspired by an actual article, and that the film was largely fact based. i thought jennifer lopez and constance wu were great. some sexual scenes i thought were unnecessarily long/sexual but it is a movie about strippers (but it just felt male gaze-y).
