‘Castle in the Sky’ is yet another beautiful piece of work by Miyazaki. It very much sticks to the main themes we often see in Studio Ghibli films - strong female lead, young love, magic.

Another STUNNING film written and directed by Miyazaki! From the films of his that I have seen, I have to say this has some of the most striking visuals! The castle is beautifully detailed and though it is meant to have a more tattered and run down feel, I can’t help but have this undeniable draw to it! And the scenery - WOW! Never had such a powerful urge to run away to such a beautiful little fantasy land.

Overall a stunning film.

The storyline is not the most thrilling that Studio Ghibli has ever provided us with, but that certainly is not a negative thing! Its definitely a good film to just watch and relax to. It’s all just very sweet and leaves you with with a lovely sort of peace inside.
