  I don’t want to kick someone when they’re down but…

  Honestly there were some interesting scenes here and I think there were two potential decent plots (Emilia’s relationship to her wife and kids post-transition and the impact of cartel activity on families left behind) but by not fully committing to either of them - and spending a truly ridiculous amount of time on the surgical aspect of transition - the whole thing ends up feeling underdeveloped.

  I love a musical. I do not love a musical where the entire cast and crew appear to not want to be in a musical.
