  SO fun! Visually stunning (especially in IMAX), very good performances, and an appropriately absurd way for Bong Joon-ho to mark the second Trump era.

  Side-note: is it physically possible for Toni Collette not to steal whatever scenes she’s in? That woman can do whatever she likes, goodness.

  A few thoughts:

  1) I absolutely love comic book movies that feel like comic books (thus my soft spot for movies like Aquaman), and this certainly does that incredibly.
  2) the animation is clearly spectacular, and the storytelling decisions around the animation like Gwen and her father’s last scene are very fun.
  3) love the Spot as a villain bursting with aesthetic possibilities. His black and white scenes felt like I was reading a DC Vertigo comic book.
