As much as I appreciate Cumming giving this role 110%, I don’t understand why anyone would go to the Kit Kat Club if it already was weird and aggressive from the beginning. Isn’t part of this story that this world is supposed to be an enticing form of chaos that draws you in?? Clifford says at the end, “The party’s over” and all I could think was “What party??”

Interesting to watch this after Look Back and Paris is Burning, both of which contain themes of making art in the midst of tragedy and humanity’s need to express oneself.
Forgot so much about the romance plot in this and how depressingly accurate it conveys how we live our little lives and have our interpersonal dramas while the world slowly encroaches around us, until it fully consumes us.
