Perfectly captures all the ugliness and beauty of life. This is not a coming-of-age film, but a film about the world and people, all of their cruelties and all of their lovingness. Watching this was such an amazing experience: I felt horror and disgust, I felt hopelessness, I felt pure sadness, and then I felt amazement, I felt hopefulness, I felt as if all of this really has meaning. So immersive and beautiful to look at too. Only 4.5 stars…

Caterpillar 1988
A slow descent into industrial chaos, with a weird cyberpunk caterpillar thing. God, I love how Fukui films make me physically ill, all 3 I've seen so far; can't wait to buy the 964 Pinocchio 88 films release when it comes out in like a week.

The Happiness of the Katakuris 2001
Just simply writing about this film is an insult to it, I want to express my feelings to this through an interpretive dance performance
