Eyes Without a Face 1960
Honestly that was such a banger i was hooked from the beginning, and it was so satisfying seeing the plot unravel. Brilliantly paced too; makes perfect use of its tight runtime. Loved it.
There were also some genuinely squirm-inducing moments too which i feel like is particularly impressive for such an old film.

Gorgeous and meditative but ultimately served as a reflection on experiences that are entirely foreign to me. I understand it’s kinda the point of film is to actualize these hypotheticals and in turn see how they make us feel, but there’s something about the non-American experience of post-WWII reconciliation and reconstruction that I still have a strangely difficult time identifying with on an emotional level.
