Absolutely deserved oscar win, loved the use of chopin and the characterizations of the two leads but think the side characters were underdeveloped. Excellent directorial debut from Eisenburg, I think we needed this film right now and its insistence we confront our societal pain(s) is beyond relevant.

I enjoyed a lot about this film from a production standpoint, I think the mis en scene really captured the gothic atmosphere in a beautiful yet disarming way. I’ve never seen a film more self indulgent or intellectually devoid of life, if i could get my ticket cost back i would. I laughed through a solid amount at least i guess, but if you intended to enjoy this film as the art piece it bills itself as, you will be disappointed. Wild that george miller made my favorite movie as a child (babe) and my favorite movie in high school (fury road), but somehow also made this absolute horseshit.
