This film is slow burning apocalyptic weirdness and beautifully controlled visual madness. Eerie, unsettling, and thick with atmosphere. Highly recommended (especially if you dig 70's horror).

The Hollow Child 2017
This was . . . not good. In the end anyway. Some promising atmosphere in the beginning, decently haunting score, some genuinely creepy touches here and there, but as it goes on it devolves into the generic and finally just settles on hackneyed. It's not the worst, but it ends up boring. Shame since there are bits of good in it (though there are many better versions of this kind of changeling story in other films).

Repo Man 1984
I want to be objective, but I just can't. This film is like a warm, non descript can of comfort FOOD for me. I loved it when I first saw it at 14, and I love it even more today. It's a punk rock fable for anyone who's ever loved a job they hate, lived by their own code, or wished Aliens would take them away in a '64 Chevy Malibu.

Surprisingly moody in spots with some unfocused scenes (like, the camera was out of focus). This was a blast though. A Blaxploitation/Horror cartoon in the best way. That crack about the camera work is actually pointing to one of the film's surprising strengths. The seat-of-your-pants filmmaking gives it a loose atmosphere that actually makes the disjointedness seem like a whole. Great soundtrack as well.
