blown away. everybody brought their A+ games, and the deep deep exploration of generational trauma (the train scene in particularly was beyond words good) was perfect. it's interesting to reflect on the idea that the generations before us lived through everything they did just for me to be posting silly movie reviews on a website, while also realizing that future generations will be thinking about our lives as *these times* rather than the mundane stuff that filled the gaps. good good stuff.
when one of the first lines in the movie was the president saying "have you heard from betty, my daughter?" as if the president's aide wouldn't know who betty was, i knew i was in for a treat
