  beautiful performances, cinematography, script, and soundtrack. i feel as though the allegory of pedagogical pederasty is often lost in the viewing as it blended with the twentieth century understanding of love; but it’s there (boyish timothee chalamet and masculine armie hammer, the girlfriends they have on the side, and desire vs repression, plus the relentless imagery and discussion of ancient greece) though notably it is not a social advancement to be involves with another man.
