Back to a silly plot with annoying characters. Really didn’t care about the magic games in this one. Was hoping for more Pattinson too. However, Ralph Fiennes finally showing up was awesome and I’m excited to see him in more of these. Weirdly the performance of his this reminded me most of was Grand Budapest Hotel.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004
Much better than the last one. That little bug Dobbie was nowhere to be seen. Really fun world building and fun characters. This school really needs to get it together with their hiring practices. Kids are getting better at acting so the films rely less on the older characters. Really fun. My favorite so far.

At the ripe old age of 26 I’m beginning my Harry Potter experience at the request of my wife.
So far the kids are cute the sets are gorgeous and the wizarding world is wizarding. Unfortunately I think Peter Jackson stole all the good visual effects artists to work on LOTR so some things are not aging gracefully.
Love that the movie based around 3 kids has super talented adult actors to pick up the slack.
