I am incredibly conflicted on this film in a way that I think means it is a great piece of art, but I do not know if that is by Sean Baker’s design or an accidental consequence and Baker missing the point he is aiming for.

Some classic Japanese Yakuza mixed with film noir. Stylish to a tee, engaging, yet simple plot.
Loved this, but I fear it will not leave much of a lasting impression. The ending is fucking amazing however. Simple, but beautifully choreographed.
