  Sean Baker has such a unique voice in directing his movies. This was truly directed like a symphony, with all its crescendos, diminuendos, moments of calm, the rush of emotions, the characters’ motives all colliding in a cacophony of noise, the time and space he gives the characters and the audience to reflect when he chooses to lift his baton. It’s all masterfully pieced together. Always really humanizing work.
