The Hunchback of Notre Dame 1996
Dear God, they just don't make 'em like they used to.
This film is an experience that will make you laugh and also terrify you. It is an outstanding piece of animation that makes excellent use of symbolism, its score and its absolutely amazing voice cast (Tony Jay, you truly were one of the greatest).
Seriously, Disney took a Victor Hugo novel and turned it into a film that alternates between slapstick comedy and borderline religious horror psycho thriller, and the result is just awesome.Translated from by -
Hot Fuzz 2007
I've had this DVD lying around for ages, and finally got around to watching it. In short: This kicks ass.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost make an excellent buddy cop duo, and it's exceedingly clear that everyone had a fucking blast making this movie. The humor has aged very well, in fact I don't think a single punchline felt stale. The action scenes are just the type of over the top madness that I'd hoped for, and the whole experience makes for excellent pop corn cinema.TL;DR: Great cast, good writing, cool action scenes, kicks absolute ass.

Ran 1985
I love this film.
Ran is Kurosawa's first film in color. The way he makes use of colors in this film goes to show that Kurosawa viewed color in film not just as a fact of life, but as a tool. Every shot feels like a painting, the visual style is just that great.
Like many others of Kurosawa's films, Ran is an adaptation of a Shakespeare play. Kurosawa didn't originally plan to make this an adaptation of King Lear,…Translated from by -
The Lego Batman Movie 2017
Gotta love it. It treats the original characters with enough respect and feels like a really affectionate parody.
The jokes land, in fact i cannot remember a single one that missed its mark. The animation is top tier, the voice cast are all crushing it, and it's just a firework of over the top action and rapid fire jokes.TL;DR: Kicks ass, makes you scream with laughter and gets pretty much everything right.
